We all know that driving with an obstructed view of the road is not safe. So when your car’s windshield is covered in snow or ice, it is important to always scrape it off properly. Being that we are in California, you may think that rule does not apply here. Well, snow and ice are not the only things that could obstruct your line of vision on the road.
While hanging air fresheners may make your car smell nice, they can also get in the way of your knowledge of your surroundings if they are hung from your rear view mirror. Some people also like to hang other things there like necklaces, charms, or really anything. The problem is having things hanging from your rear view mirror can make it hard for you to see what’s ahead of you. Finding another spot for your keepsakes may be in your best interest.
Also, when your windows are fogged up from the inside, you will want to take care of them before driving off. The fog is a result of moisture build up in the cabin of your car and the difference in temperature between your car and the outside. Turn on your defrosters using the Fresh Air setting, not the Recirculate setting. Recirculating will not reduce the moisture.
Before you take your next drive, check to make sure you do not have anything that could obstruct your vision and remove it. Not only could you prevent getting a ticket, but you could be preventing an accident from happening. Having an obstruction in your line of vision can be a very dangerous way to drive.
