When it comes to fireworks in California, the laws can be tricky. As a
whole, the state allows some or all Class C fireworks which includes
shells and mortars, multiple tube devices, Roman candles, rockets,
sparklers, and firecrackers with no more than 50 milligrams of chemical
compound. They also allow novelty items like glow worms, airplanes,
ground spinners, fountains and party poppers. However, before you grab
your lighter and those bottle rockets you have been saving up you need
to check your jurisdiction to see if there are any county or town
specific laws that may prohibit the use of fireworks at your home.
